The more you did before the disasters,the less you would loose.Here there are some tips for defensing .
BEFORE A TYPHOON
1) Monitor the news about weather disturbances.
2) Check the ability of your house to withstand strong winds.
3) Board up windows or put storm shutters.
4) Make sure flashlights and portable power source have fresh batteries;stock up on candles.
5) Store adequate food supply and clean water.
For our factory,we secure all the important documents.Put all the finished paper tubes on the plate,and cover with tarpaulin. Close all the switches. Of course, our employees have one day off.
DURING A TYPHOON
1) Stay inside and away from windows.If you are in a low-lying area or do not have a concrete home or storm shutters, consider seeking shelter elsewhere.
2)Stay inside, even when the eye of the typhoon is passing and all appears to be calm, as heavy winds will soon follow from the opposite direction.
3)Fill in holes around doors with old towels or blankets; if these gaps are left open, it may lead to flooding.
4)Turn off and unplug all appliances. Shut off the main gas valve and power switch. Use surge protectors on major appliances and phone lines to avoid power spikes.
